This is a really great hobby. I became interested in magic through my model building hobby. As I recall, I was sick with the chickenpox and my dad came home from work with a gift for me to make me feel better. The gift was a model kit, because he knew how much I enjoyed building models. It was a scale model of a magicians vanishing lady illusion. A model of an ornate white box with opening doors on all sides which stood on two pedestal type legs. Included was a model of the magicians assistant. After building all the components, you strapped the assistant into the box using rubber bands, closed the doors, said the magic words, opened the doors, and the assistant had vanished! That is what started it all. Unbelievable. I have been performing for over 40 years. I perform regularly at charitable events in the New York area. I even taught a course on close up magic in a local adult night school. The photo is of me in my magicians suit! The second photo is a school performance.
